The Right to Healthcare
Most of the developed world has some form of universal healthcare, removing the burden of cost and availability from the citizenry… but in the US, private health insurance conglomerates make sure it stays a jumbled nightmarish gauntlet of frustration, so to maximize corporate profits, not improve services/care. Medicare For All is more than just a policy, it’s about completely reforming our entire system.

Addiction
Addiction is a true epidemic in our country, often sparked by the desperation of austerity & we need sweeping policy change to deal with it. From treatment options and decriminalization to root cause mental health support. Changes in policy driven by educated economic investments in our communities can mean massive improvement in quality of life for so many people who are currently suffering under brutal sentencing for low-level crimes and addiction issues that deserve treatment not incarceration.

Mental Health
Economic uncertainty and lack of health care accessibility are bearing down more heavily than ever before, with basic resources and medical treatment often tied to jobs or marriage, leading to increases in domestic violence and suicides. With Medicare for All in conjunction with a Federal Jobs Guarantee, we can reduce many of the universal economic burdens, and subsequently real-life stressors, and allow people the freedom to focus on taking care of their mental health, instead of just basic survival.
