H.R.1714 - Stop Militarizing Law Enforcement Act
This bill aims to rein in a program that has transferred, in an utter free-for-all, more than 6.8 billion dollars’ worth of military equipment to our domestic peace officers. Whether it has anything to do with the revelation that the Pentagon’s 2018 war-games included a response to a homegrown Gen Z rebellion, or if instead they’re just a bunch of cosplaying sadists, either way, this bill is a small step in the right direction. Peace officers everywhere would still be able to acquire their fully-automatic weapons, grenades and other explosives, unmanned aircraft, armored vehicles, etc., they’d just have to tell the Department of Defense why they needed it, get their local governing bodies permission, and promise to give it back when they’re done.
