Lewisberry, PA” Real Progressives announced today the creation of a new nonprofit corporation to help match activists and progressive causes with policy makers, media outlets and academic experts to help create actionable policy from a sound financial framework.
Real Progressives launches this unprecedented effort with a mission to facilitate dialog and work groups to assist academics within the Modern Monetary Theory discipline to fundamentally address the ubiquitous question of how progressive policy can be paid for within a sovereign fiat currency system.
“We have all seen the pushback from members of Congress and pundits who insist that programs like Medicare for All, the Federal Jobs Guarantee and the Green New Deal are, “too expensive.’ They ask, “how do we pay for it?'” said Steve Grumbine, Chief Executive Officer of Real Progressives.
“The truth is, we cannot afford do nothing or undertake half measures,” he said. “Through this venture, we provide a platform for dissemination of honest macroeconomic study with global experts collaborating with activists and groups pushing for a true caring economy that works for everyone.”
Real Progress in Action builds upon the economic policy discussions that Real Progressives is known for but allows for grassroots organizers to learn from each other and the leading experts in their field, as well as provide a platform for independent, citizen-driven media.
Chief Operations Officer Kerri Barber remarked, “It is important to recognize the changing landscape of how and where we access news of the day. Distrust of corporate-owned media is at an all-time high, yet exceptional investigative journalism exists within the independent media space. We believe it is important to support that work and offer our global platform to do so.”
This launch is the first planned action which will be followed by similar, autonomous efforts in Australia, India and across the African continent where independent states are not yet free from colonial monetary constraints.
